Location: This beautiful house is located in Luckenwalde, the district town of Teltow-Fläming. Luckenwalde is approximately 50 kilometers south of Berlin, as indicated by the mnemonic Luckenwalde, Luckenkien, 50 kilometers before Berlin. Trebbin lies north of Luckenwalde, Jüterbog to the south, Baruth/Mark to the east, and Treuenbrietzen to the west. The town is situated in a bay of the Baruth glacial valley, which extends far to the south here and transitions with an indistinct boundary at Kloster Zinna into the Fläming region further south. As the name Luch im Walde suggests, Luckenwalde has always been surrounded by large forest areas. The deciduous forests in the surrounding area, as well as pine forests on sandy plains, extend directly into one of Brandenburg's largest forest regions. After the incorporation of the municipalities of Frankenfelde and Kolzenburg on December 6, 1993, the city of Luckenwalde has two districts: Frankenfelde and Kolzenburg. Federal Highway 101 between Trebbin and Jüterbog ran through Luckenwalde until the completion of the bypass in 2013 and has since been expanded to multiple lanes west of the city. State Road L 73 between Michendorf and Baruth/Mark runs through the city. Luckenwalde station is located on the Berlin-Halle railway line. Here, Regional Express trains of lines RE 3 Stralsund Hbf/Schwedt–Berlin–Jüterbog–Lutherstadt Wittenberg and RE 4 Rathenow–Berlin–Jüterbog–Falkenberg (Elster) stop. The Fläming-Skate inline skating route runs through the Luckenwalde area. Luckenwalde offers skaters and cyclists two entry points to the skating route—one at the district office and one in the Elsthal valley—and therefore also calls itself the gateway to Fläming-Skate. With approximately 230 km in length, it is now Europe's longest inline skating route.
